Welcome to 4th & 6th grades

Published by bonnieandclyde at 2:30 pm under schooling

Wow, that summer went by quickly.

It was supposed to be a low-key summer, with the kids (and teacher) taking some time to relax, but it still zipped by.

The kids closed out the summer with their yearly chess camp.  Clyde took 1st (and a trophy) and Bonnie tied for 4th.  A good showing for both of them!

And now, we’re looking at the new school year.  It’s promising to be another busy one.

Academically, it looks like it will be pretty similar to last year – we’ll continue on through US History this year, and the kids will continue with the grade appropriate math and language arts studies.  We’ll continue Latin, as we’re really enjoying the Latin class, and the kids will take on Biology for science.  Clyde will continue his writing classes while focusing on powerful paragraphs, and Bonnie will begin her writing classes this year.

We have a little over half a year left on our TKD contract, so we’ll continue that for at least awhile, and both kids will continue their piano lessons and attending scout meetings.  We’re still trying to figure out how to get some chess playing in there, but that may be more of an independent study thing.

We have at least one big field trip planned for the fall, as well.   We look forward to sharing this year’s adventures with you all.
